LASER VISION CORRECTION (LASIK) CO-MANAGEMENT AND CONSULATION

LASIK, which stands for laser in-situ keratomileusis, is a popular surgery used to correct vision in people who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. All laser vision correction surgeries work by reshaping the cornea, the clear front part of the eye, so that light traveling through it is properly focused onto the retina located in the back of the eye. LASIK is one of a number of different surgical techniques used to reshape the cornea.

EQUIPMENT

VISUCAM PRO NM

VISUCAM®PRO NM feature legendary ZEISS optics and non-mydriatic color fundus photography enabling you to photograph through pupils as small as 3.3mm. Superior patient comfort, more efficient workflow and improved eye care: The advantages of the VISUCAMPRO NM from ZEISS are obvious. The high-quality system provides the basis for detailed diagnoses of typical eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and AMD in a single workstation. Advanced features such as easy stereo image handling are combined with intelligent auto functions that enable reproducible and intuitive imaging for every single patient eye.

CANON FULL AUTO TONOMETER TX-F

The Canon TX-20 Full Auto Tonometer measures Intraocular Pressure (IOP) allowing our doctors to perform simple eye exams efficiently while enhancing patient comfort with a soft air puff. This test is important in evaluating ocular conditions that affect the pressure inside of an eye, such as Glaucoma. Whenever high IOP is detected, a warning message is displayed. The doctors can enter any threshold value on the unit’s settings screen to activate the warning system for that value.

ZEISS STRATUS OCT

This is a diagnostic imaging device that provides direct cross sectional images of the retina for objective measurement and subjective clinical evaluation in the detection of glaucoma and retinal diseases. It images and analyzes macular thickness, the retinal nerve fiber layer and the optic disc using the latest technology for high resolution scans. It is the only instrument to offer three diagnostic capabilities: Macula – RNFL – Optic Nerve Head. The information provided produces retinal images never seen before. It is a tomographic imaging device unlike ordinary topographic units available. The complete cross-sectional view of the retinal structure demonstrates actual histology. The result is data that enhances our ability to diagnose and manage a patient’s glaucoma or retinal disease.

DICON LD400 AUTOPERIMETER

The LD 400 is the comprehensive solution for precision, ease of use, quality patient management, and rapid exam time. Its easy 2 button operation allows for quick exam selections. Its  kinectic fixation and voice prompts eliminates the duty of urging patient fixation. It provides 4 exam strategies: Threshold Related Suprathreshold, Full Threshold, Fast Threshold, and Quantify Missed Points. The Dicon Autoperimeter LD 400 offers the superior results, speed and analysis needed to see more patients without sacrificing patient care
